Japanese Language Courses
The Czech-Japanese Association offers Japanese language courses for students of different levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.
Our courses develop all essential language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – with an emphasis on practical communication. Language learning is also complemented by an introduction to Japanese culture and contemporary society.
Most of our regular Japanese language courses are taught in Czech. However, we also offer selected courses taught in English. The currently available English-language courses are listed below.

Selected Japanese language courses are taught in English. Available levels and course types depend on the current semester and instructor availability.
Not Sure Which Level to Choose?
The JLPT levels shown for our courses are intended as a general guide and are based mainly on the grammar covered in the course. Where applicable, we also indicate the Genki textbook unit the group will start with at the beginning of the term.

Individual Japanese Lessons
If none of the available group courses matches your level or schedule, individual Japanese lessons taught in English may also be available.
General Course Information
Regular Japanese language courses usually consist of 16 lessons and take place once a week, unless otherwise stated.
Courses are generally open to students aged 15 and over. A minimum of 5 students is required for a regular course to open.
There are no lessons on Czech public holidays.
If a lesson has to be cancelled for reasons on the instructor’s side, a replacement lesson will be arranged and students will be informed accordingly.

Course Fees
Current course fees are maintained on the Czech version of our website.

Cancellation Policy and Payment Terms
By submitting the registration form, you agree to pay the applicable course fee. Registration may be cancelled free of charge more than 10 business days before the course begins.
- If you cancel more than 10 business days before the start of the course, we will refund 100 % of the course fee.
- If you cancel 10–4 business days before the start of the course, we will refund 70 % of the course fee.
- If you cancel 3–1 business days before the start of the course, we will refund 50 % of the course fee.
- If you cancel after the course has started, no refund will be provided, including in cases of non-attendance or early withdrawal.
- Your place in the course is confirmed only after payment of the course fee. Until then, your registration is considered provisional.
